Write for us

United Music Review welcomes considered pitches about listening, songcraft, instruments, musical traditions and sound. We look for clear ideas that help a general reader notice or understand something specific about music.

What to propose

Send a focused proposal for an evergreen piece with a distinct central idea. It might explain a musical form, compare two listening choices, trace the background of a custom, unpack a common misunderstanding or offer a thoughtful plan for a particular listening occasion.

What makes a strong pitch

Tell us the working title, the main point, why it matters to curious listeners and how you would support factual details. Keep the scope manageable, avoid repeating familiar advice and disclose any relevant commercial interests. Do not send confidential material or assume that a pitch will be accepted.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant writing samples you are able to share. We cannot promise publication or a particular response time.

Our point of view

Attention is part of listening

A song can feel different when we notice its edges: a breath before the chorus, a line passed between instruments, or the room in which it is heard.
